The ABN Center for Nursing Excellence is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a conference on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Pelham Civic Center & Ice Arena. This ALL-DAY event will be offered at no cost and will include a complimentary breakfast as well as a catered working lunch.

We encourage you not to miss this opportunity to learn alongside your peers at the ABN Advanced Practice Leadership Conference "Empowered to Lead: Shaping the Future of Advanced Practice Nursing.”

This conference will provide valuable insights on:
  1. Examine the impact of fragmentation within the nursing profession on policy influence, public perception, and the effectiveness of collective advocacy efforts.
  2. Explore how professional silos among nursing roles and specialties hinder communication, collaboration, and the advancement of unified healthcare initiatives.
  3. Enhance understanding of forensic nursing as a specialty practice, including its scope, roles, and significance within advanced nursing practice.
  4. Explore the importance of providing sexual assault victims with timely, trauma-informed forensic care in settings beyond traditional emergency departments.
  5. Differentiate between Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) and Certified SANE roles, highlighting their respective qualifications, competencies, and implications for clinical practice.

The ABN Center for Excellence developed its Leadership Institute (LI) to improve regulatory knowledge, public protection, and patient care through a series of educational opportunities that are foundational to professional growth and development as a staff nurse and as a nurse leader. The broad curriculum begins at the individual level and focuses on improved communication to patients, families, peers, the entire care team, and throughout the organization. If you haven’t enrolled in the ABN Leadership Institute, we urge you to do so!

Please note that the “Call to Register” email will be distributed next week providing the registration link.

For any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to LeadershipInstitute@abn.alabama.gov.

We hope to see you there!
