This presentation will center around sexual side effects of medications.

Alan "Tony" Amberg
Alan "Tony" Amberg MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Alan “Tony” Amberg APRN PMHNP-BC is a Full Practice Authority Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and the owner of Alan Tony Amberg PLLC Psychiatry in Chicago, with patients in Illinois and Florida. He is a popular speaker and trainer for national, state and local conferences. He also gives to corporate, association, and therapist groups. He has streaming content on several medical education websites and serves on advisory boards for multiple pharma companies. Prior to private practice, he was the Psychiatric NP Liaison at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and prior to that served as the psychiatric provider for Rush Oak Park Hospital. In his roles, he has worked with a wide range of psychiatric conditions combined with physical co-morbidities. Concurrently with his hospital consult work, he also did outpatient general psychiatry and community mental health. Mr. Amberg has precepted many nurse practitioners, RNs and also provided education for Physicians Assistants, Psychologists, Chaplains and Social Workers. Mr. Amberg just finished a stint on the national nominating committee for APNA (American Psychiatric Nurses Association) and was a past President of the Illinois Chapter where he led the biggest increase in programming in the chapter’s history and raised over $100,000. He has a long involvement with ISAPN (Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses), sitting on the Program Committee and formerly on the Government Relations committee. At Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was a 2020 "Hero for Better" and a 2020 Spiritual Partner in Care Award. In 2019, he was identified internally as one of the exemplars for “Excellence” system wide. During the lockdown he provided over 300 stress reduction groups to almost 3000 staff contacts and wrote the "Tips from Tony" column for NPs and PAs, including members of ISAPN periodically. He spoke at grand rounds for RNs and APPs at Northwestern Memorial and Lake Forest Hospitals and helped to write hospital protocols for delirium and suicidal ideation. Mr. Amberg has a long background in media (radio, article writing, some television, creation of health care media). He has worked in community health and pharmacy. He holds nursing degrees from Rush University and DePaul University in Chicago. He practices "slow medicine" which takes time with the patient and attempts to address mind, spirit and body. He is interested not just in restoring someone to baseline, but to assist them in reaching for their best authentic lives.
